8 Great Apps We’re Thankful For

Because this week is all about giving thanks for all the things we really can’t live without. When we’re not using Peekshare, these are some of the apps that make our lives a little better. In no particular order:

1. Venmo

If you don’t have Venmo, let’s take a moment and welcome you to 2015! Secondly, you should download it right now. Thanks to Venmo you don’t have to spend 30 minutes splitting a dinner check 5 ways. Split pizza, Ubers, rent, tickets hassle-free. Because who really carries cash anymore?

2. Runkeeper

Runkeeper is a popular running and activity tracker. Super handy, links up with Spotify, your social networks and all that good stuff. But Runkeeper makes this list because it’s quick to let you know when you’re slippin’. “Dear John, we noticed it’s been a while since you’ve completed an activity.” Oops. Don’t feel bad about hitting snooze on Runkeeper this Thursday, but trust that it’s tracking your turkey day indulgence.

3. Sunrise

All the organized people in your life probably already have Sunrise. Sunrise makes it easy to manage events, schedule meetings, and sync all your calendars to keep you on top of things. We all have that one friend who could really benefit from downloading Sunrise, so let’s help them out and direct them here.

4. Uber/Lyft

In an effort to be concise, we’re gonna pair these two. Regardless of your personal feelings in the war between Lyft and Uber, they’re pretty much interchangeable. Uber & Lyft have saved us all at one point or another. They get us from point A to point B when we need them most. Because turns out getting into cars with strangers isn’t all that bad, Mom.

5. RetailMeNot

Thrifty thrill seekers rejoice. RetailMeNot is the place to find deals and discounts for pretty much everything. Download the app on your phone and check it before you buy online or in-store. If your favorite store has a deal that day, it’s most likely on RetailMeNot.

6. Wunderground

Weather geeks rejoice. There’s two kinds of people in this world: those who compulsively check the weather and those who get rained on. If you’re a weather geek, a control freak, or an #OOTD planner, Wunderground is as legit as it gets for weather apps.

7. Google Maps

We can’t always take Uber/Lyft. Sometimes we have to drive ourselves. Turn by turn voice navigation, now paired with Waze real-time traffic updates? Google, you the real MVP. 🙌

8. Spotify

There’s a good chance you’re listening to Adele or JB right now. There’s a ton of music apps to choose from but Spotify is our go-to. Whether you’re freemium or premium, it’s a great choice.Make your own playlists or use one of the many Spotify-curated playlists, categorized by mood, genre, and special occasions. It also syncs with a bunch of other apps.

This is obviously not a complete list. We use hundreds of apps. We love Postmates, Tile, and all the other great apps solving first world problems. Let us know what some of your favorites are!

Happy Thanksgiving!
